WHAT FAILSAFE FESTIVAL OFFERS

FailSafe Festival offers the following to participants who are accepted:

  • Two (2) performances within the five (5) day festival in a forty-five (45) seat theater, located in the Times Square/Hell's Kitchen area of New York City.

  • Theater will have a basic lighting package, sound system, and ceiling mounted projector. For more information on basic tech info, please click here.

  • No submission fee, no participation fee, no festival fees. 

  • Submitted projects can be finished, portions of larger/longer works, or works-in-progress.

  • Percentage of the box office receipts from the participant's two (2) performances, based on artist's chosen ticket pricing. 

  • One two-hour tech/dress rehearsal time on Monday, August 5th, Tuesday, August 6th. or Wednesday, August 7th.

WHAT FAILSAFE FESTIVAL DOESN'T OFFER

FailSafe Festival will offer each participating production a space to perform their work. However, the festival cannot offer the following:

 

  • Directors, producers, performers, stage/technical crew or designers for individual productions. Recommendations for personnel can be given, but they cannot be provided by the festival.

  • Sorry, no AEA showcases or AEA readings.

  • Sorry, we do not accept scripts.

  • Sorry, we cannot assist international artists with obtaining visas.

  • Sorry, we cannot assist out of town artists with housing in NYC. 

  • The venue is on the third floor of a building without an elevator.

  • The building is not ADA accesible.

  • While dance submissions aren't discouraged, please be aware that the performance stage is 14' at its widest and 14'6" at its longest. Additionally, the stage is a raised, wooden platform that is not sprung.

  • Because of the nature of the space, we will not be able to provide lighting paperwork, etc. until the first day of tech (Monday, August 5th).
